I know what it means to carry unseen wounds—and I have seen too many struggle alone, believing they are beyond healing. I founded HunTherapy because traditional mental health approaches often fall short, missing the deeper need for community, mission, and meaning in the healing process. You’re still here—now let’s find out why. I aim to help others see that survival is just the beginning—thriving, leading, and finding purpose is the next step.
I have dedicated my career to exploring the intersections of moral health, resilience, and ethical leadership, guiding individuals through trauma, complex decision-making, and purpose-driven healing. My professional journey includes serving as a Board-Certified Chaplain with a specialty competency in Suicide Prevention, a Healthcare Ethicist, and an Associate Professor of Moral Injury. These roles allow me to blend clinical insight, academic research, and field-tested experience to help individuals navigate trauma, moral complexity, and the pursuit of healing with integrity. While I’ve co-developed integrative models for the VA, such as REAL and UMI, the frameworks you’ll find on this site reflect my original contributions and personal healing philosophy. These influences shaped aspects of my work, though the models presented here are my own and not official VA content.
Through keynote speaking, ethical leadership training, and outdoor therapy retreats, I support Veterans, first responders, and leaders navigating trauma, ethical pain, and burnout. My work in moral injury and suicide prevention draws on the frameworks I’ve developed—including CareFrontation, Translucent Chaplaincy, and HunTherapy, to help others rebuild resilience and rediscover moral clarity.
Whether through writing, teaching, or leading immersive outdoor experiences, my mission is to walk alongside those carrying invisible wounds—and to offer tools that empower them to reclaim their purpose.
